Welcome to the Roxby Downs Community Library Website.Our Mission – That all users of the Roxby Downs Community library will use the library with confidence and enjoyment.Our Statement of Purpose – To meet the information, intellectual and recreational needs of the school and community of Roxby Downs.Our library caters to the needs of a town population of approximately 4,000+ people and a school population of approximately 700+ students. 
 

Joining the library

Becoming a member of the Roxby Downs Community Library is free of charge.To register as a member, it is required:

  • To complete a registration form
  • To provide current identification with signature
  • To agree to abide by our rules and regulations
Patrons under 18 years of age must have signed consent by their adult caregiver.Your details from the registration form will be entered onto our computer system and you will be issued with a borrowing card. To borrow you must present this card to staff each time. Borrowing limitsCommunity members may borrow:
  • Adults             10 items (max. 4 magazines, videos or CD’s)
  • Children             3 items            (max. 1 video or CD)
  • Visitors             2 items (may not borrow videos or CD’s)
Students may borrow:
  • R-2                  3 items
  • 3-6                   5 items
  • 7-9                   6 items
  • 10-12               10 items (all students max. 1 magazine, video or CD)
Borrowing periods 

The loan duration for:
  • Adults              4 weeks
  • Children            2 weeks
  • Visitors            2 weeks
  • Students            2 weeks
  • Videos, CD’s            2 weeks
  • Magazines            2 weeks

Extensions to individual items may be requested provided there is not a waiting list for that item. Extensions may be requested over the telephone (08 8671 0660), via email (roxbydowns.library@plain.sa.gov.au) or in person. Students must present their overdue item/s to staff for renewal. 

Opening hours

During the school term the library is open Monday to Friday 8 am to 6pm. Saturday mornings 9.30 am to 12 noon.During the holidays the library is open Monday to Friday 10 am to 6 pm. Saturday mornings 9.30 am to 12 noon.The library closes for public holidays and the Christmas to New Year holiday break.

Audio Visual & Room Hire

Ashton Scholastic Book Club

Book marks & library bags for sale

Toddler’s Story Time
            Description: craft activities under 5 year olds            Cost: free
            Availability: Wednesday 10.10 am during term
