2008 Roxby Downs Primary School Curriculum All curriculum areas are taught as integrated units of study. Learning is highly collaborative and contains a blend of structured and experimental tasks. Year 3 and 4 form one learning team in one teaching block and Years 5 and 6 form another. Each year there are likely to be some composite classes. The 5 main Specialty Curriculum offerings in Years 3-6 include: Mathematics Support Programs Stretch: The aim of the programme is to “stretch” students’ learning from their own individual level and work at their own individual rate, therefore presenting students with learning opportunities where they are likely to be highly successful. Students learn and practise repetitively, basic skills of spelling reading and writing, until they are mastered. They are immersed in a wide variety of high interest activities and explore learning through many different learning modes. SMILE: |
